Born in Essen in 1979, David Hufschmidt aka The Top Notch lives and works as a graphic designer and graffiti artist in Essen. He became active in the mid-90s and quickly specialised in typical style writing. Influenced by the classic graffiti of the 80s, his current style developed: large, stylised letters in strong colours abstracted into increasingly geometric shapes until the boundaries between letters and shapes almost blur.
